SCENARIO

It's Wednesday at 7a.m. and the last week of the sales quarter. On the other end of the phone line is a distraught sales executive. Apparently, she can't log-in to the company's intranet to access a critical document she needs for the deal she's working on. Everything was fine when she logged-off on last night. She hasn't changed her password. What could be the problem?

Several minutes later you receive an email from the Help Desk. Apparently, one of the new administrators has mistakenly deleted an organizational unit (OU) containing user accounts for the entire sales team. None of the sales reps can log on to the domain to access network resources, including key documents, email and calendars. Within minutes, every line is lit up from Help Desk to Admin and the emails are pouring in. When this happened six months ago, it required an off-line restore that rendered users useless for several hours.

But, this time, you're prepared. NetPro's RestoreADmin performed a scheduled backup at 5 a.m. this morning. To conduct the restore, you simply pull-up Microsoft's Active Directory Users and Computers, click on the RestoreADmin recycle bin to locate and select the deleted OU, and click "restore." The MMC extension immediately activates the Restore Wizard, displaying the corresponding database and most recent backups with the objects selected for restoration. You click "start" and sit back and watch as the restore progresses.
